Levante Gambling Trends
How We Handle Data
A magazine about odds should be able to state its own numbers plainly, so here they are for personal data: zero accounts, zero analytics tools, zero advertising partners, one browser note about the consent banner, plus whatever you choose to put in an email. The rest of this page fills in the detail.
What the site is built from
Levante Gambling Trends is published as a set of finished HTML pages. Nothing is assembled from a database when you arrive, there is no login area, and readers cannot post comments. Because of that, we never had a reason to install visitor statistics, ad networks, social sharing pixels or tracking code of any kind, and none of it runs here. Nobody receives a profile of your reading habits from us, whether for money or for free.
The consent banner note
Click accept or decline on the banner and your browser files that single word in its local storage, a small private area each website gets on your own machine. It is checked only so the banner can stay closed as you move between articles. We cannot read it remotely, and it disappears as soon as you wipe this site's saved data. The page on cookies and your consent goes through it step by step.
Request logs on the web server
Serving a web page always leaves a trace on the machine that sent it. Our hosting company's servers note things such as the requesting IP address, a timestamp, which file was asked for, the browser's self-description and the page you came from. Those records exist to get pages to you, to spot attacks and to diagnose errors. They are held by the host for a short, fixed spell and then cleared. We do not match them against anything else or try to work out who individual readers are.
Under data protection law, this processing rests on our legitimate interest in keeping a working, secure website online.
Emails you send
Writing to us shares your address, any name attached to it and the content of your message. That material is used for one job: replying to you, or fixing an article if you have reported a mistake. Once the conversation has served its purpose, we delete it. A gentle request: leave passwords, card numbers and account screenshots out of any message. We have no use for them and will never request them.
What you are entitled to
Readers covered by the GDPR, the UK GDPR or comparable rules elsewhere can ask us to:
- learn which of your details, if any, sit with us, and receive them in a copy;
- put right anything about you that is inaccurate;
- ask us to delete data we no longer have a reason to keep;
- pause or stop a particular use of your data;
- take a complaint to the supervisory authority for data protection where you live.
Requests go to the email address shown on our contact page, and we answer inside the legal deadline, which is usually a month.
Under-18s
Our subject is gambling, so the magazine is written for adults. We do not set out to gather details from younger readers, and anything sent by someone under 18 is deleted once noticed.
Future changes
Should a new feature ever involve personal data, this page will be revised before that feature is switched on, not afterwards.
